Configuring iOS devices for use with SageSolution Email Servers

  1. Launch the "Settings" on your device.
  2. Select the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" section.
  3. Select "Other" for type of mail account.
  4. Select "Add Mail Account".
  5. Type in your name, full email address, password, and a description or account label (if desired).
  6. Tap "Next" to continue.
  7. Leave "IMAP" selected.
  8. Under incoming mail server, enter the following
    1. Host name: mail.<YOURDOMAINNAME> (ie: mail.sagesolution.net)
    2. User name: <YOUREMAILADDRESS> (ie: iphone@sagesolution.net)
    3. Password: (This should already be prefilled with the password form the previous screen.
  9. Under outgoing mail server, enter the following
    1. Host name: mail.<YOURDOMAINNAME> (ie: mail.sagesolution.net)
    2. User name: <YOUREMAILADDRESS> (ie: iphone@sagesolution.net)
    3. Password: You will need to manually type this in here. It's the same password you entered in Step 5.
  10. Tap "Next" to verify the settings.
  11. The SageSolution.net email systems do not support SSL connections, so you will get a warning box saying it can't connect using SSL.  It will ask if you want to try connecting without SSL.  Tap "Yes" to proceed.  You may get this a second or third time for the outgoing server as well.  Tap "Yes" to proceed each time you see the message.
  12. It will take a few minutes to verify the information.  Be patient while it confirms the settings and attempts to link to your email account.
  13. A dialog box will appear to confirm what to sync using IMAP.  By default, only mail is turned on.  Our servers do let you sync "Notes" as well though... but only if you use the web-based email systems to access them from a computer.  Tap "Save" when finished selection options to sync.
The account will then be added and you'll be all set to get your email on your iOS device.
