Smartermail 7 Error "SmarterMail is processing the request"

There is known issue with Internet Explorer 9 and SmarterMail 7 where it appears SmarterMail is frozen with an error that says "SmarterMail is processing the request". The solution to this is enable compatibility view mode in Internet Explorer 9.

  1. In Internet Explorer 9 click the Tools menu and select Compatibility View Settings.  If you do not have a tools menu, or your menubar is hidden, press Alt-T to open the menu.


  2. Ensure your mail domain is listed under "Add this website", click Add then click Close


  3. You should now be able to load SmarterMail without error in Internet Explorer 9
